Whew, it's been a long time...things are a little crazy with the remodel and baseball and school stuff, so I have taken a break from posting for a while. I'll try to be better, but I think at this point, once a week is probably a good goal.
Since seeing this post, I have been bitten by the granny square bug. I don't really know how to crochet, but have been loving looking at the pictures here and decided to give it a try. It took me a while to find my crochet book- Simple Crochet by Erika Knight, which I have found to be great for inspiration and instruction- she has a very cool granny square afghan in the book and many other great projects. Yesterday I went and got some Cascade 220 wool yarn (as suggested here), my size G hook and started in. The colors may be a little darker than I'd normally choose, but they're growing on me and I figure this blanket may end up being a small size and for practice. It is too much fun - once I got the hang of it (ok, so don't look too closely at my blocks) as far as where stitches should go, etc. I haven't been able to stop! Give it a try...even if you're a crochet newbie like me.
