Some fun things making me happy today ...well, the first one I am happy and freaked out by all at the same time - my oldest son just turned 13 today (wasn't he just a baby??), so now I'm the mom of a teenager! Yikes! Actually, he's a really great kid with a great sense of humor and tons of friends and we're really proud of him.
So, OTHER stuff that's happy today...
These beautiful autumn-y sunflowers
This book - Apples for Jam by Tessa Kiros - it's an amazing cookbook based all on color (the sections are red, orange, yellow, etc.) and the recipes look fabulous - can't wait to try a few. The pictures are also beautiful - pictures of the food, her kids, her kid's art - all so sweet!!
My new table from IKEA - the top is like a shadow box and you can put stuff in there, so when you're cutting fabric (or whatever you're using it for), you can always see little treasures that make you happy! I'm not done filling this guy up and I'll be hanging an inspiration board above it, so more shots of this to come! The WHOLE table (sawhorse legs and the top)- $149 - so great!!
The table is in one corner of the new studio room and this lovely chair and bookcase are in another corner where I like to sit and read fun magazines and applique and stuff. It's still a work in progress, especially for hanging things on the wall, but this little spot in the mornings is awfully nice!
