Feeling quite under the weather today - yucky tummy. Which is a bummer because I have a lot to do, but I think for right now, since it's like this outside...

I will stay in and have this and read these...

and wear these - that my sweet husband got me because me feet are always cold!!

Christmas Eve is actually my favorite day of the year. The anticipation of Christmas, the magic surrounding it - it was always the most exciting to me as a child and I think my children feel the same way. So, the tree is lit, the stockings are hung and we're ready for a day of fun, baking, music and joy. May you and your family have a happy and blessed Holiday!!

Glitter Church

OK, so with my new addiction to glittery Christmas houses,  I went back to the cute shop and looked at the glitter church I wanted (that I mentioned in the last post) and it was even more money than I thought, so I didn't buy it (very unlike me, but what with the holidays and all the spending on the house and stuff, I just didn't feel right).  Well, on Friday, things were hectic - kid's last day of school before break and getting things ready for having family on Saturday, etc. John went downtown to pick up last minute stuff and lo, and behold, he came in with a big bag for me - it was my glitter church!! Now who wouldn't love a guy like that! So, here it is...

Pretty,huh?? It's on our kitchen table on a cakestand the was my grandma's. (For the picture, I had to move it since it was too glare-y on the table).  You can't really tell, but it has a little white bird coming out from the middle little window - so cute!!

Really, I'm going to do better...

Well, that's my early New Year's Resolution. I miss blogging and all the lovely people I have met through blogging and it made me sad as we decorated our tree with lots of ornaments received last year from swaps and from good friends who are so generous - and I thought that I haven't been very good at keeping in touch and I'd like to fix that.

Things are crazy busy as I know they are with everyone!! Lots of activities this week - a concert tonight (Meg is playing the clarinet), then a singing concert at the elementary school tomorrow night, plus school parties,etc. It's sort of all bunched into one week and makes for a mighty stressful time!! Not to mention family obligations, etc. I know you know what I'm talking about.

As I write - I'm waiting for two coffee cakes to cool to take to Collin's class for their traditions celebration - they had to bring in something or a game or something that they do each Christmas or Hannukah. I make this coffee cake every Christmas morning and it smells SO good! (Let's hope doubling the recipe is ok!).

Made a quick (ha!) trip  to Container Store since I ran out of wrapping paper at a crucial wrapping time last night. UGH! How much cute stuff do they have?? Yikes! I went a little nuts!

The lady told me all the stuff will be 1/2 off right after Christmas - so I'll be back!!

Yesterday we went to the CUTEST store that is new (new to me anyway) in Walnut Creek. It's called Filthy Gorgeous and my friend Joanna told me about it. I got the cutest little glittery houses and a pretty white berry garland. I'll be going back there too...soon - they have a large glitter church-ish thing that I really must have (though we'll see if Mr. Wren's Nest agrees...). It's just so amazing! These are the littler ones that I did buy~


These three live on a pedestal with a glass dome over them. Now I just need a little bottle brush tree in the middle!
