Wendy Addison Open House

Yesterday my friend Sherri and I headed over to Port Costa to go to the Wendy Addison open house at her amazing shop (and workshop) Theater of Dreams. So fun! I could have spend a ton of money there (as it was - I did enough damage). It was completely packed (it's a tiny shop), but everyone was so nice and friendly and helpful. I went specifically for this wreath ~

which will hang in my dining room window (I had to take the picture on some of my kitchen pantry cabinets, though so you could see the wreath). It's amazing with the bird and oak leaves with drawn lines on each leaf and the bird. LOVE it!!

I also picked up some other goodies while I was there and I'm sure I'll be going back for more since there are some things I think would be great in my daughter's new room (we're going back to a vintage feel in there - thank God!!) and there are some cute glitter "chandeliers" to be had and stuff like that. Anyway, here's the rest of the loot~

and last, but way not least - this amazing mushroom vignette (I have a little tiny one and this one is absolutely amazing!! I love it - my friend got a snail in the same vein and it was so sweet too). This one will be out all year.

 

Plus, Wendy wrapped each item in a really cool box or bag that had been printed with a great vintage image and they were all done on her old printing press. What a fun time!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Wishing all of you a happy and fun Thanksgiving with family and friends...I'm off to make my apple/cranberry sauce and last night I made  marinaded shrimp for an appetizer for today - it has to sit a day or more and then you wrap each shrimp with a snow pea(so yummy!). Then off to the inlaws this afternoon for dinner.  Enjoy your day!!

To Tea-Dye or not to Tea-Dye...

I actually finished a couple of little projects over the last week. I'm pondering whether to tea-dye them or not (or one and not the other...). I'm tempted to keep the pillow the way it is now - it sits on a black chair in my kitchen and the contrast is nice. (The pillow pattern and kit is available from Teresa at French Poppy and has great instructions!)

 

The tea towel is from an embroidery pattern and instructions from Vicki at Turkey Feathers. This one I might tea-dye since it's pretty white.

 

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. We went to Benicia for a while today and I got this yummy candle.

Lovely things from Lovely Bloggers

I got some goodies recently that I'd like to share and to encourage you to check out these lovely ladies' sites...
First up - I got these cool santos hands (little ones) from my friend Ruth at The Beautiful Life. She has a blog and shop and I buy things from her all the time...I also got a wonderful crown with this order, but I need to take a new pic of it - the one I took was blurry, so maybe tomorrow!

The package I got yesterday was from Teresa Sheeley - another favorite of mine. I own MANY of her wonderful tea towels and this time (in addition to these amazing holiday tea towels) I ordered one of her crown pillow kits, so I can make one of her rockin' pillows (I do have one of those too (make that two of them) and this way I can enjoy making my own (I can sew, right - it's been so long, I barely remember - at bit of a creative slump at the moment, or for the last few months...). I'm going to be doing that today.

Tarnished Silver

The Shades of Inspiration assignment this week is Tarnished Silver - very fun! Here are some of the tarnished silver things in my house. I collect ex votos (and other religious-y items) and so a couple of my pictures are of those - I also enjoy old, tarnished baby cups.
