Happy Christmas Eve - my favorite day/night of the year! We've done our family lunch and are getting all settled in for a long winters nap (here on a rainy day). Hoping you and your family are enjoying the day too and that you have a wonderful Christmas tomorrow with love and joy to all ~ Merry Christmas!!
It was a busy weekend around here - I headed back to Port Costa to the last day of Wendy Addison's Open House and treated myself (and my daughter) to some lovelies... I added the bird on the snowball and the sweet snail (who knew a snail could be so cute) to my mushroom group in my family room.
I also got some glittery little leaves and acorns on wires to put somewhere (not sure yet) and I got Meg THIS cool "chandelier" that I've had my eye on for some time - it goes perfectly in her new dreamy room.
Here it is with her "dream" letters AND we put up tulle on her ceiling, swagged across diagonally in both direction - it looks really sweet. It's coming together ...
This is a little inspiration board by her bed - she'll be getting a big one to go over a desk (which we still need to get too).
And last, but not least, John and I headed down to Los Gatos to one of our FAVORITE shops - Anteo and found this great small chandelier for our teeny tiny entryway (hard to find ones that aren't too big - this one was just right and at a good price - also hard to find).
The real reason we went down there was to pick up this cool sign for our dining room, that I'd been thinking about since our last trek down there - it's vey fun!
Off to start the baking. I hit the grocery stores this morning - man - it's getting crazy out there already - everyone getting ready for their holiday feasts. I went out at 8am and I must say, everyone was so nice and in the Holiday Spirit!!
Today is the Virtual Cookie Exchange hosted by Tracey at Notes from a Cottage Industry - what a great idea. Sadly, life has been a little overwhelming here this week, so I haven't made my cookies yet, but make sure to check it out - there are some beautiful treats over there!!
Now I'm off to make icing for the 3rd graders to make gingerbread houses with their Kindergarten book buddies (and I'll be helping in the classroom too...should be fun and messy!).
I have received some lovelies over the last week and I wanted to share them and the wonderful blogs/shops they came from . The ladies who own these shops are wonderful and are certainly helping make my home lovely for the holidays (and always).
First up we have Miss Kasey at Lola B's Boutique - I got this lovely candle from there and it smells great, plus it's beautiful to look at!
Next, my friend Teresa Sheeley - I think I own almost one of each of her tea towels and a few pillows! Here are 2 new tea towels (because I love crowns and I love Paris) and a beautiful pillow she made for my daughter's room (which will have a vintage Paris theme).
Then, there is Liddy from French Garden House - always lovely things there!! She had the beautiful glitter "Noel" that I wanted and it came all wrapped like a present!! Including a wonderful sachet that made each of my kids say "wow - it smells good in here" when they got home from school.
The Noel is hanging from a mirror over our TV cabinet, it's beautiful how it reflects and it's really pretty at night!!
Finally, we have my friend Ruth from The Beautiful Life - she always wonderful and unique finds and I love her shop and we've become pals through the last few months. She also does some fabulous wrapping and I got this AMAZING pillow (11 is my birthdate) and these beautiful plates (I guess I'm on a number theme there) - all wonderful (hard to take a picture of the plates - they're in the china hutch and there's a glare, but you get the idea)
I also found this little treasure at a little shop near me - they had it on a tree, but I'm using it on a table with a votive - so pretty!

I am participating in this very fun thing! I sent one picture to Tracey, and I know I've been showing you snippets of my house decorated for the holidays, but there's a little more which I would like to share and I will as soon as the fog clears out. We are completely socked in this morning (like I can't see past my yard at this point). It's very fun and a little creepy, but not so good for picture taking. Admittedly, the poinsettias were not my first choice - I wanted big grapevine balls to go in the urns with lots of greenery, etc, but can't find them anywhere, so this is it for now.

We've started decorating for the holidays - we'll get our tree this weekend and put the lights on the house all that fun stuff ~ it's also my husband's birthday on Sat, so I don't want to make him do too much work on his birthday! Here are some goodies around the house...These are all my creamy decorations - largely Nicol Sayre, Wendy Addison or Dee Foust.
