It's been quite a couple of weeks! Our school auction is a week from Saturday, so that's been sort of all consuming, then yesterday I got new stuff for the shop - so exciting, but man, not exactly the best timing! Here is my studio...looks like something exploded in there!
I am getting on it, so in a few days check in to the shop - Dreams of France - to see the new goodies!
So today I treated myself to some pretty flowers from Trader Joe's - I LOVE flowers and plants - I don't exactly have a green thumb, but I do try (one thing I didn't inheiret from my grammy - she can take a completely dead plant and have it thriving in a matter of weeks...). Last week I got this pretty plant (not sure what it is, but it looks pretty in the kitchen) and the baby rose plant.
Then today I bought these - the gerber daisies and tulips look like they've been painted by hand! My two favorite flowers!! Spring has sprung in my house (even though it's gray and off and on rain outside).

Hello - I'm taking a minute from Auction Hell to show you some cute stuff around here - well two things are from here and one is something that I LOVE, but sadly isn't mine!
Here is my new lamp from Kasey over at Lola B's - how cute is it?? It's on my work table in the studio (which is an IKEA glass table which I like, but someday would like a tin top or zinc top table there) - lighting up a very dark corner - I love the lamp and I way love the shade and the sweet finial on top!!
Maybe I'll take another picture tonight when it's lit ~very cozy.
Here is the thing I don't have - this amazing chair from The Curious Sofa. Can you even stand how cute it is? That would look nice in my studio too - something to dream about!
And last, but not least - my new business cards came - so happy!! Designed by Alice W. who did the Dreams of France website.
I forgot to share this when I got it last week - it's the Vintage Valentine Fat Book I participated in hosted by Dede. So fun - working with paper was a new thing for me and it's addictive! The book is amazing - you can see it's chock full of goodies!!
Lots of pink and red and all those girlie girl colors...speaking of which - I'll be putting these sachet towers in the shop later today. These are big - the bottom sachet is 6x6, middle is 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 and the top is 3x3. The first one is held together with seam binding tape and topped with a vintage millinery bouquet -
This next one is tied up with seam binding ribbon, the middle sachet is hand dyed wool and it's topped off with a millinery flower brooch that you could take off and put onto anything you like - it's so sweet!
Truly this title makes no sense, but I liked how it sounded. First off, the winner (chosen by random number selection - and those of you who commented in both places, got your names in twice) is Janice!! Looks like she is on a winning streak for give-aways! The wing and the prayer part kind of refer to how I shop at Flea Markets! My husband and I went to Alameda this weekend and it was great - beautiful weather and lots of stuff! We were looking for a nightstand for Meg's room, but no luck on that front. I also saw a great statue of St.Therese, but didn't buy it right then, went back and it was gone...so, learned that lesson. Lots of new vendors and old favorites. It's also just such a great place to walk around and people watch.
Here are a couple of cool things I did get..
These amazing frames are from Marilyn. They're old gessoed (sp?) frames and have a great patina. We lost out on a couple by waiting (helllooo...), so I'm hoping she has more next month. I'm going to hang them in the studio just plain - no art in them. I've been seeing that a lot on various blogs and love the look. They are pieces of art on their own!
Then I found a new (to me) vendor who made beautiful bottles with soldered tops all decorated. She also had cool religious stuff - we all know my love of antique religious paraphanalia, and I found this beautiful rosary - I don't know what the beads are made of (they're kind of a pale yellow-y/clear color), but the metal parts are so worn and have a great worn look and feel - I love it!!
So, that was our Sunday morning (I know it's been a few days)...can't wait to go back in March! Enjoy your evening!

The tea towels by Teresa Sheeley are here and in the shop!!! I LOVE these and have many myself and use them everyday - they wash up beautifully! So, check them out. (The flatware design should be here soon!)
Here's a corner of the studio - kind of messy, but I wanted to show the sweet pillowcase I treated myself to from Teresa (the little royal bird couple are the cutest) and my new parson's chair! Woo Hoo - I'm finally comfortable at my table!! I'm working on the board - I have one on the other side of the room above my work/sewing table and it's FULL - this one just came, so I need to get busy!

This has been a dream of mine for a long time and I'm so excited to have it finally come true. It's a little shop, but I'll be carrying some of my favorite things ~ hope some of them are your favorites too!
