Of course, I bake at other times too...for the last 2 years for our school auction, another mom and I have donated "A Year of Cupcakes". Whoever has the winning bid enjoys a dozen cupcakes a month for 12 months. Now, lucky for us, so far the people who have won have been lovely and patient because, as much as we try, we don't always deliver on time. We usually switch off months, but the other mom is currently having her kitchen redone, so I get to do the first few months myself (we alternate months). Anyway ... let's just say that May didn't get done and I'm really pushing it here for June, but our lovely winner (who also happens to be a friend) was so gracious about it, so we decided that I would make 4 dozen mini-cupcakes for a party for her sister - pink and brown being the theme. OK - I don't do really fancy decorations, but I'm learning, so polka dots it was - they turned out cute, though the lesson of the day (this was last Friday) - don't decorate cupcakes on a really hot day...your glaze won't set up right and the little dots kind of run. She was happy with them anyway...my other lesson - cute pink bakery boxes go a long way towards making stuff look cuter than it really is!! I bought a whole bunch of them at Cash and Carry!
