OK - I saw this on Alicia Bock's Bloom Grow Love blog and loved the idea so much, I stole it to try over here. Since words seem to be escaping me lately...and since a picture is worth a thousand words, what could be better.

We're FINALLY getting around to planting more and more and are really loving being in the yard with the music of the fountain playing in the background and the still cool mornings to sit under the trees and read or journal before the 3 not so littles get up.

So, here are a couple of things I see during those peaceful morning times.

Looks like it'll be another pretty one here...love this not too hot, not raining thing we have going right now. Happy Wednesday!

What the What??

I signed my daughter up for this really cool sounding photography class specifically for middle schoolers - she's very creative and took movie making and cartooning in school this year and did so well in both and she's very interested in photography - always has been - she'd take my camera when she was little and then we'd download all kinds of interesting stuff from her little girl perspective (mostly of her hamster...RIP, Pudding).

So, here's the deal - her class starts on the 19th. They also had an adult class, so I signed up - thinking, yeah, I'd like to know more about my camera...I take a lot of pictures, this shouldn't be too bad. Well, I'm here to tell you that it's hard! There is SO MUCH to learn and apparently I have lost most of my brain cells being at home the last 13 years. I'm reading all this info saying "What the what?? ISOs and Shutter Speed and Aperture, oh my!"  It's completely interesting and already lots of questions about my camera and how to do some stuff have been answered and I even sort of understood what they were before, but - well, do you ever feel like everyone gets it but you? Time to go do my homework...on the first day of summer break!

New beginnings...

It's been a while...a crazy last few weeks of school. So glad to be out for summer - time to relax, kick back, stay in our jammies all morning and not have to be anywhere (well, not exactly true, but I can dream).

Now, an announcement - I have decided to close my little shop Dreams of France. It's been fun, but after some thought and in looking at what I really want to do and where I want to spend my time, this just isn't it. I feel a shift coming - I'm not exactly sure what it means or anything, but I know that having this shop isn't part of it.

It's funny - I'm taking the spring Mondo Beyondo class and it really opened my eyes. We had to write dream lists and I used to think that owning a little boutique (a brick and mortar one) was what I wanted, but in writing everything out and really thinking about it - that's not what I want at all. I want lots of other things and I'm open to the possibility of possibilities, so it's time to let this little venture go. I'm actually really excited about it and excited to open up to other dreams and other ideas and to follow my heart - even if I'm not exactly sure where that will lead.

So, thank you to all the lovely ladies who shopped with me and to those whose beautiful things I was privileged to carry. I'm so glad I did it, but now I'll say au revoir to that part of my life.  So, while things last - everything in the shop is 30% off .

I hope to be better about blogging - it just hasn't been a priority lately and I'm excited to get back to creating and doing some things I love!! Happy Summer!
