I signed my daughter up for this really cool sounding photography class specifically for middle schoolers - she's very creative and took movie making and cartooning in school this year and did so well in both and she's very interested in photography - always has been - she'd take my camera when she was little and then we'd download all kinds of interesting stuff from her little girl perspective (mostly of her hamster...RIP, Pudding).
So, here's the deal - her class starts on the 19th. They also had an adult class, so I signed up - thinking, yeah, I'd like to know more about my camera...I take a lot of pictures, this shouldn't be too bad. Well, I'm here to tell you that it's hard! There is SO MUCH to learn and apparently I have lost most of my brain cells being at home the last 13 years. I'm reading all this info saying "What the what?? ISOs and Shutter Speed and Aperture, oh my!" It's completely interesting and already lots of questions about my camera and how to do some stuff have been answered and I even sort of understood what they were before, but - well, do you ever feel like everyone gets it but you? Time to go do my homework...on the first day of summer break!
I always feel like I'm the slowest learner around Jackie. Sounds like a good class though, you'll do great. Better let you go so you can read that info over once again. Have fun!

I had to laugh... I know just how you feel... I have no brain cells left as I am battling the menopause monster... No memory, etc.
On top of that I have the nicest little camera that had a few bells and whistles Canon Powershot 630 which I love but no.... I just had to take the leap to a Canon EOS Rebel XTI 400D with a fancy schmancy lens... I have no idea what I bought or how to use it... It sure looks good though....
I've had the darn thing a week and haven't taken a photo yet. I think I'm intimidated... And I haul 6000 gallon loads of cyanide all day(to the mines here). So basically I'm not afraid of much being a woman.
But... This camera... Lordy! I praise you for taking some classes. I hope some of the information will connect. Good thing I have some cobwebs in the old noggin in case I take a class maybe the info will stick to them...
Good luck! I'll be checking in on you! Thank goodness you have a youngster in your house. She'll be saying "oh, Mom, do it like this"...lol
